Turin, Italy

From left to right: a pair of Christmas stamps from 1983 celebrating the 500th birth anniversary of Raphael, a 2022 stamp commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Italian astrophysicist Margherita Hack, and finally a heavily embossed stamp from 2010 for the FIVB men's world volleyball championship held in various cities around Italy that year.

 

Horní Jiřetín, Czechia

The postmark from the town of Horní Jiřetín, Czechia, commemorates the third anniversary of the Ore Mountains being recognized by UNESCO. The center of the postmark is an image of Jezeří Castle. This ties in with the stamp on the right showing the Vlčí jámy ravine. That stamp is the bottom half of a souvenir sheet that features beautiful sites in the Czech Republic found in the Ore Mountain region and the top half of that sheet (not on this cover) is a stamp with an image of Jezeří Castle.

The other stamps are a 2014 commemorative showing the paper mill in Velké Losiny. It is one of the oldest handmade paper mills in Europe. Below that stamp is a 2012 definitive an old homestead in the village in Bušanovice.

Germany, Environmental Protection FDC

Latest German Environmental Protection series stamp and special envelope. This is a long running stamp series with an addition surcharge that goes towards initiatives that find solutions to environmental problems and raise ecological awareness. This year the stamp theme is "Antarctica - protecting something unique together". FDC postmarked with the Bonn postmark.

Finland, Stories and Myths

From Alavus, Finland. Europa stamps from 2022 featuring Päivätär and Kuutar: goddesses of the sun and moon form Finnish mythology. Sun goddess Päivätär on the right and moon goddess Kuutar on the left.

Liechtenstein Stories and Myths

The White Woman on the left and The Tälibudel on the right. These are Liechtenstein's 2022 contributions to the Europa stamp series. The White Woman is a harmless spirit that floats around. Not sure what she does if anything but on this stamp she's being "neutralized" by mullein plants which are supposed to protect against evil spirits. The Tälibudel is an Alpine spirit with red-eyes that looks like a dog. I like the colours used on these stamps. Postmarked in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein.

 

George Morrison FDC part 2, USA

The other two stamps of the five stamp George Morrison issue that were not on the last FDC I received. Spirit Path, New Day, Red Rock Variation: Lake Superior Landscape (1990) on the right and and an  untitled coloured pencil on paper work from 1995 on the left. Thank you Michael. Always appreciated.
