Stone Chickens from Austria FDC

The stamp on the right has a pair of Steinhendl (Stone Chickens) on it, cancelled with a first-day postmark. Steinhendl is an old breed of chicken that used to be found on farms in the Eastern Alps but it is nearly extinct today. The Stone chicken is a good flyer and I guess it makes more sense to raise chickens that can't easily get away.

As much as I liked the chicken stamp I found the stamp on the left equally interesting. The watercolour artwork is a Black deadly nightshade by Brigitte Heiden. It's a loyalty stamp, not available for general sale and only available to Austrian Post stamp subscribers. It took a bit of Googling to figure that out.
